Walrus Integrates Pipe Network to Cut Latency and Enhance Bandwidth Across Chains

Walrus, a popular decentralized data storage platform, has recently integrated with Pipe Network, a prominent decentralized content delivery network (CDN). The integration endeavors to enhance bandwidth as well as minimize latency across chains. Walrus’s official social announcement labels this integration as a remarkable merger of the strengths of both the entities. The collaboration will enable seamless storage, robust compute capabilities, and delivery infrastructure across several high-throughput blockchains.

Leveraging DePIN to Remove Bottlenecks in Robust Multichain Ecosystems

The partnership includes the merger of the resilient storage capabilities of Walrus with the worldwide delivery infrastructure of Pipe Network to improve bandwidth as well as decrease cross-chain latency. In this respect, the expansive Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) architecture of Pipe Network. It has more than 280,000 Point of Presence (PoP) nodes throughout the globe.

These community-driven nodes establish a worldwide distributed ecosystem that permits the efficient and rapid delivery of data. Apart from that, the integration allows Walrus consumers to leverage sub-50ms read-write latency. This guarantees seamless and fast data access regardless of their geographic location. Additionally, Pipe Network will operate as Walrus’s a content-delivery layer while simultaneously adopting he decentralized storage of Walrus to improve multichain reach.

Hence, this paves the way for a symbiotic system to deliver rapid data access along with content integrity in the decentralized sector. While discussing this initiative, David Rhodus, the Pipe Network’s core contributor, stressed the benefits in comparison with conventional content delivery networks (CDNs). As per him, Walrus has collaborated with Pipe Network due to its DePIN-enabled, worldwide footprint to discard the single-region bottlenecks that Cloudflare and other legacy CDNs face

The infrastructure backs high-performance delivery of several dynamic files, including video content, irrespective of the location of the users between Patagonia and New York City.

Redefining Next-Gen Decentralized Internet with Resilient Web3 Infrastructure

Rebecca Simmonds, Walrus Foundation’s Managing Executive, also expressed excitement over this integration. As per the executive, the integration of the worldwide distributed nodes of Pipe Network offers content with more efficiency and speed in remote and high-demand environments. Beyond just performance gains, the collaboration also unveils advantages like cost-efficiency for builders and improved dApp capabilities

Overall, the joint effort is marked by Pipe Network and Walrus’s endeavors to establish a decentralized, multichain, and high-speed internet infrastructure.
