Indian officials: India currently sees no need to purchase new weapons from Moscow.

Jin10 data reported on August 8 that, according to an Indian official and a Russian source familiar with the talks, Moscow has been actively lobbying New Delhi to purchase new defense technologies in recent months, such as the S-500 surface-to-air missile system. Two Indian officials stated that India currently sees no need to purchase new weapons from Moscow. However, one of the officials indicated that India is unlikely to completely rid itself of reliance on Russian arms, as the decades-long partnership between the two countries means that India's military systems will continue to require support from Moscow.
